I absolutely love the back bar area. The atmosphere is very cozy. The waitress is a hoot! The food is great! I tried the shrimp stuffed haddock and I give it 5 stars. We make this a weekly dinner date night. And the punch drink is oh sooooo good!

What a spook-tacular evening having dinner with my husband at the Kingston 1686 House!With its old world charm, furnishings and eccentric staff, it was perfect.The crab cake appetizer and prime rib was amazing with a delightful ambiance of Perry Como playing softly in the background added to the experience.With a history of the restaurant being haunted, I found myself looking over my shoulder at times for paranormal activity as we laughed over our delicious espresso martinis and tiramisu. We had a lot of fun although we didn’t see any ghosts… or did we?

What a wonderful restaurant and lounge! We eat some wonderful entries at the bar and had some delicious drinks!Since moving into the area I’ve been wanting to go here as Ive found out it was a favorite hang of a great ancestor of mine “Joshia Bartlett” though from what I learned the tavern had been burned down to make way for the expansions to what what is there now! Still it was a joy. Lots of private rooms for private functions and weddings. Very much early New England charm! Even the ladies powder room was done in a cute and feminine cottage style. Definitely check it! It was really quite the Thursday night we were there.

We were there for our 56th Anniversary. The meal and service were great. We sat in the Tavern. We go there every year and have never been disappointed. This year was especially awesome because a wonderful person paid for our meal and it wasn’t cheap.. who does that? What a wonderful surprise. Thank you to the wonderful person that did that, very much appreciated .

Enjoyed our experience, the prime rib was the best anywhere! The actual chicken parm was delicious! The service was excellent. The people were more than friendly! I would only say the table should have a table cloth for a fine dining experience! All in all I give a 10!

We didn't have a Res but stopped here last night for a Birthday Celebration. So glad we did as the food is excellent! I had the Seafood Bisque loaded with large chunks of fish and the Tenderloin Steak cooked to perfection this just melted in your mouth! Make sure you order the green beans delicious! She had the Shrimp Stuffed Haddock also excellent! Strong and large glass Martini's! Great House Wine! Mariah was our server very attentive we had a very nice quiet table. Great Restaurant we will be back!

The quiet, dining room in "the Barn" made the perfect evening to celebrate my mother in law's birthday dinner. Three gals accommodating everyone in the place did not delay the meal, drinks or desserts. I've waited longer for service with three times the staff in other restaurants! Personable and attentive. The prime rib was outstanding. Vegetables grown in the owner's (chef) garden. Good portion and good drinks. I'm coming back with more family! Thanks 1686!

Never disappoints! Except when we miss getting oysters-they are so good and it is the most popular item so we understand.Have had several dishes and working our way through the menu.
